Ok I rarely get to update this thing but i feel if you guys see my name at the top of your update list, I feel some of you will summon the decency and the courage to continue reading as I am typing from an internet cafe in panama... Alright well I am about halfway through my trip and let me say that things have been beyond normal... Our first experience to summorize has been amazing.. we get here and go on a 4 hour bus ride and than unto a 4 hour boat ride to a really small island of 500 people called the kuna. There is no ¨real¨ church here because a church of 10 does exist, but the pastor is also a witch doctor... so ministry was tough... but where I feel people are lost the most is also where God will show is glory. We got to witness the healing of a woman who had a fever, dizzy spells to the point of passing out daily, and huge leg issues... it sounds like anyone could have it, but this woman had it for like 10 years... the family was very distraught. The witch doctor had been working with her for many years and she was so frustrated because it wasn´t working... we prayed... God moved... she was healed. Another case there was a baby who was born with a fever with terrible coughing issues... it had this disease since it was born and he was 1 and a half years old...medically it was stated that this baby was going to die very soon... we prayed... God moved... the baby was healed. The mother was one of the happiest people I have ever seen. There are a lot of stories just like that our team got to experience... I would share more but I´d like to talk about it in conversation.. especially one HUGE story that I dont feel is appropriate for the xanga/facebook world. (really quick this computer is Messed up so if you see any typos that´s the computer. Although the bad grammer is all me) Anyway one last story before I go that is very personal, we had been serving this island all week and just sharing the love of Christ, not talking about who He is, but showing who He is. Anyway we served all week and we were there on our last night... I was actually away from team going to the bathroom where the generator is also (the village had/depended on electricity from 7-11 at night) and the generator had a huge issue and the electricity went down. God hit me with ¨this is your opportunity to share the good news¨, and it dawned on me that everyone on my team has a flashlight and we could do a presentation with a stage created by flashlights. So I ran back to my team told em the idea and we ran with it. We did the presentation in a small sport court and a LOT of people came, we counted 220 at the start but would assume over half the island was there by the end. It was the only lit area on the island so they had no where else to go. Well we did the presentation and shared the gospel of which we had over 80 salvations, but not only that we had planted over 250 seeds in peoples minds. We did prayer ministry and was just sharing the love of Christ... and than right at the very last moment the last person got ministered to, just when we had finished talking to everyone.. suprise suprise... the generator starts working again. One of the missionaries said you would think God would take a break from being So Awesome, but nope He keeps being more and more... Hopefully this all makes sense, it cost money for me to be on here so I have to be fast... this is quite an update, but it has been quite an experience of life. |
